NO MORE PLASTIC WASTE IN OUR OCEAN
When the two friends Michiel and Sven found this Foundation, they were
driven by a single goal: to do their part in making the world a better place for all and generations to come. They knew they can make a difference - a strong sustainable impact - and they need every helping hand to achieve that goal. 8 Billion kilos of plastic waste are entering our oceans every year. Soon there will be more plastic than fish swimming in our seas.
Our Mission is to clean the Ocean from this Plastic Waste Disaster. The MBRC Foundation uses all its resources to support and invest into its own ocean projects. We are operating and supervising each project directly and always hands on. To make all this happen we at MBRC relay only on Donations and on people who want to help our mission.
Every minute, the equivalent of one full garbage truck of plastic trash is dumped in the sea. That is 1440 trucks per 24 hours - A disaster for all life, including ours.
The world produces more than 311 million tonnes of new plastic every year and growing at 8% per year reaching a horrifying number of 600 million tonnes per year!
More plastic was produced in the last decade than in the entire 20th century.
Due to mismanaged waste systems in certain parts of the world, all this plastic waste enters the oceans every year.
80% of the plastics entering the ocean comes form landfills. The remaing 20% comes from ships, fishing (like ghost nets) and the offshore industry. Reuse and recycling can prevent the plastic waste from leaking into our environment and ultimately entering our oceans.
Help us make impact - embrace the Ocean with us together....
ZANDVOORT / AMSTERDAM
Our first Beach Cleanup - Together with Volunteers and the local community we organised this beach cleanup just outside of Amsterdam / Netherlands. The impact and awareness we created and the support we experienced was overwhelming and inspired us to go further. We collected 10 kilogram of plastic waste and brought it back to the recycling company outside Amsterdam. Do not forget: studies have shown that recycling plastic waste saves more energy than burning it! Go Recycle not new!
This Beachup on an Island close to Phuket in 2020 was only possible with the help of DEMOPOWER Thailand - They provided us the boats to reach the "Plastic Island". What we found was awfull - the beach was covered in plastic waste. With 40 Voluteers, supporters and your donations we where able to clean the entire beach. Tourist joined us while on the island - we made difference this day!!! 20 full of plastic waste were brought to the recycle company.
This was the biggest Cleanup so far - 50 helpers, supporters and Volunteers where joining our cleanup in 2020 on Coral Beach near Phuket. Thanks to all the Donations we received! We worked the whole day to cleanup its white sand from plastic waste 30 bags full of Plastic Waste were retrieved this day. After the cleanup we separated the plastic waste and brought it up to the recycling company nearby where it was processed and recycled. Never forget: Recycled Plastic is better for the environment than to burn and destroy it!
Over 8 Million Tonnes of plastic waste every year end up in our Oceans
